Whitewater Valley REMC

Businesses near the southern Indiana border with Ohio are served by Whitewater Valley REMC, a 12,000+ meter electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Liberty, Indiana. Whitewater Valley serves numerous industrial and commercial growth areas, including the Indiana Gateway Park on Interstate 70 in Wayne County.

Whitewater Valley REMC is a progressive, financially prosperous electric utility that serves customers in six counties. The leadership of Whitewater Valley REMC is committed to promoting efficiency and reliability in operations, a commitment that was demonstrated by the creation of Whitewater Valley RMC in the early 1990s, when two adjoining cooperatives decided to merge together. Wayne County REMC and Fayette-Union REMC studied a possible merger and concluded that the operational efficiencies warranted the consolidation, a decision that is still paying dividends today for the customers of the cooperative.
